Frequently Asked Questions

Are the Board Members Paid for their time?
All board and committee positions are volunteer.  No compensation or special consideration is provided to members serving on the Board of Directors or any committee.

Are the Board of Directors and the Architectural Committee the same people?
Not necessarily.  It is not uncommon for some Board Members to serve on the Architectural Committee, however the committee is often made up of other homeowners within our community.
If you would like to serve on the Architectural Committee, please contact our Property Manager or e-mail architecture@stovermill.org

How long is the Architectural Approval Process?
Please allow 30-45 days for a response from the Architectural Committee.  Some requests may require review of your property and that of your neighbors to ensure proper fit and affect.  Some changes may require approval by the Stover Mill Board of Directors.

Why was our Association Fee increased?
Costs of services, such as trash and snow removal, have increased over time.  The Board of Directors chose to increase the Quarterly Assessment, allowing us to meet the demands and continue to improve our community.

I see some houses in our neighborhood that have features that I want on my own home.  Why can't I obtain Board Approval?
Different sections of houses were constructed by the builder using different materials than some other houses.  These materials may not be used on houses that were not included in the original construction with those materials.
Unfortunately, some owners have made modifications to their townhouse unit without obtaining proper Board Approval.  These units cannot be used as a justification for other violations.  Many of these particular examples, the Board is already aware of the violation and are addressing the situation through necessary legal measures.
Your assistance is requested in reducing and reporting Architectural Violations.

Are there any plans to repair the association owned roads?
The first, second, and third phase of repaving has been completed.  Click here for pictures.
Phase four should be beginning early-summer 2006.

I submitted for membership on the Yahoo! Group, but I was rejected - Why?
The Yahoo! Group is restricted to Stover Mill homeowners and residents.  If you did not provide your name and address when applying for membership, you will not be permitted into join.
The Yahoo! Group is used to provide a central internet-based location for residents and homeowners to discuss various topics.  Members will be barred from joining the group if they are abusive or offensive.

IMPORTANT - If you make any change to the exterior of your townhouse unit without written Board approval, you may be required to correct the change or to restore the change to its original condition at your expense!
